Sam Akerman-Knopf is a Junior Prototyping Associate at Protostudios where he primarily works with the Kern laser engraver and the Omax waterjet. Sam has also portrayed interest in robotics, specifically assembling and programming electronics, and he has started working on electronics projects with some of our clients. He has also worked with designing and manufacturing early stages of products for different clients.

Sam is going into his Junior year at Iowa, studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Math and American Sign Language, expecting to graduate in Spring of 2025. His interests are 3D modeling and design, additive and subtractive manufacturing, as well as designing and programming electronics for robotics applications.
